Messing With Your MindBy Ryan, April 25, 2006I have a shirt that my best friend gave me for my birthday. This shirt I write of messes with people’s minds. This is what it looks like:
Psychology is pretty amazing. A couple of nights ago, my family had these nasty chicken fingers for dinner. (I didn’t even know chickens had fingers!!) We had eaten the same kind of chicken just a few nights before and were very disappointed by them. But round 2 didn’t seem as bad. My dad pointed out the psychological effect of expecting something terrible, thus receiving better than what we expected. And scientists all but ignore the idea of intelligent design. I can understand some other far-out religion, such as Hindus, Muslims, and Methodidsts. (Just kidding, Methodists. We Baptists love you anyway.) But to reject that a god even exists! I like the Mark Lowry analogy the best: “If I took my watch apart...put it in a bag, and shook it up for billions of years...what are the odds that, when I’m done, I will reach into the bag and pull out a watch, ticking and on time? Order does not come from chaos!”And how right he is. How can anyone see how complex our minds are and think it’s an accident? My parents have spent the last 15½ years convincing me that I was no accident. Didn’t those “big-shot” scientists ever get that from their parents? Sorry, science... you leave me in disgust once again. And just when we were getting to the good stuff in chemistry class, too. By the way, today is my dad’s birthday. Happy birthday, Dad! { Posted 7:33 PM | E-Mail Post | Edit Post } Comments: 0Post a CommentPage last modified: |
